For the primary time Prabhu Deva donned the role of a dancer and for the primary time Sarathkumar had shaved his head. Goundamani’s comedy on this film is way spoken about even today.

Like the film, the songs composed by Deva were also great hits. Director Pavithran has now decided to remake this film now.

He has got the permission from producer K T Kunjumon to remake this film in Tamil and Hindi. It's understood that Vishal can be donning the role of Sarathkumar while Roja’s role can be donned by Varalakshmi who's the daughter of Sarathkumar.

In Hindi, there's news that either Shahrukh Khan or Salman Khan might don the lead role. Pavithran has now decided to provide this high budgeted film. There'll be changes within the screenplay to fit the prevailing day situations.
