Sami is successful film which had Vikram and Trisha within the lead roles. This film is being remade in Hindi by director K S Ravikumar. Sanjay Dutt is donning the Vikram’s role. K S Ravikumar wanted Trisha to don the feminine lead role.

He approached her for call sheet but she refused to behave with Sanjay Dutt. Trisha had earlier acted in a Hindi film titled Khatta Meetha. Through this film she became popular in Bollywood.
Since her Hindi film flopped on the box office, she isn't interested to behave in Hindi films and it's understood that was the explanation she refused to pair with Sanjay Dutt.When asked Trisha about this, she said, "IT'S true that I USED TO BE approached to behave within the Hindi remake of the Tamil film Sami but I USED TO BE unable to simply accept this offer. I'VE BEEN continuously signed for 3 Tamil films. I don’t have call sheet for other films. They requested me to allocate dates as much as August for Sami and hence I refused."
Now Prachi Desai have been signed for the feminine lead role since Trisha has refused.
