Famous actress SN Lakshmi passes away

SN LakshmiAn actor is defined by age, but their achievements, dedication and fervour towards cinema. Tamil film industry has received its stand of appreciation because of such veterans, who've played an important role in giving best performances, thereby intensifying the depth of characters within the movies. Versatile actress Lakshmi isn’t an exception as she has endeavoured through a really perfect journey in film industry acting in 1,500 movies. But it’s a Black Day in History of Tamil Cinema as she passed on to the great beyond on Sunday as a result of heart attack.

Aged 84, Lakshmi holds special mention for having donned the mother’s role of serious actors from MGR-Sivaji to Rajnikanth-Kamal Hassan.

Who can forget her spellbinding performance as a thief in Kamal Hassan’s rib-tickling comedy entertainer ‘Michael Madhana Kama Rajan’. One among her astounding acting was a great deal witnessed in late actor Nagesh’s Server Sundaram.

It is worth mentioning that Kamal Hassan considers as his own mother and because of this bonding they shared, he signed her most of his best movies that comes with Michael Madhana Kama Rajan, Devar Magan, Mahanadhi and Kadhala Kadhala.

At the age of 13, she started acting in stage plays in NS Krishnan’s groupe and later made her debut in movies through Kannama En Kadhali (1945). As a token of expressing appreciation for her very long time career in film industry, she was honoured with KALAIMAMANI title by State Government of Tamil Nadu.

Her last movie Mahaan Kanakku that was released before a month and sooner she got her hip fractured and underwent treatment. Along with her health ameliorating slightly, doctors advised members of the family to take her home. The similar night she had complained of breathing problem and was rushed to hospital, where she breathed her last.

Expressing her grief over Lakshmi’s death, Chief Minister J Jayalalitha said that she was one of these humble and sweet person and her part in film industry won't ever fade within the pages of history.
