To ensure this fact, Vijay Rasigan Express, a publicity van had carried the list of nominees for the favourite category and travelled across Tamilnadu to assemble the votes directly from the public.

Of the 143 films released within the year 2011, winners can be declared for 34 Categories. The types open for Public Voting were FAVORITE awards – Hero, Heroine, Director Film and Song. The customized bus that traversed across Tamilnadu has already collected the votes for the nominees of FAVORITE categories. Once the nominees were announced at the show, ardent movie fans started to cast their votes as a way to make their Favourite star win.

All the award winners in both - Favourite & Best Category could be announced on Saturday, June 16 2012, in a grand event that may be to be held at Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium. All of the film fraternity can be present on the award ceremony from 6pm onwards.

Apart from the five favourite category awards, the 34 BEST categories that might be chosen by the Jury members - Director K.S. Ravikumar, Yugi Sethu, actors Nadhiya, Lizzy Priyadarshan and Cinematographer Rathinavel could be announced at the D day.

Few award categories from the movies released in 2011 like Best Film, Best Actor Male/Female, Best Supporting Actor Male/Female, Best Comedian, Best Villain, Best Playback Singer Male/Female, Best Debut Actor Male/Female, Best Choreographer, Best Film Editor, Best Lyricist, Best Art Director, Best Dress Designer, Best Dialogue Writer., can be announced by the panel of Jury members.
