Director Kannan speaks about Settai that's the remake of the Hindi film Delhi Belly

Delhi Belly is a notorious film which turned out to be an ideal duper hit. This film had semi nude and vulgar dialogues in a bachelor mansion. This film is being remade in Tamil with the title Settai. This film is directed by R Kannan who's known for family oriented stories. We spoke to him.

What is the need to make this film in Tamil which has vulgar dialogues and scenes on this film?

You is not going to see the vulgarity within the film Delhi Belly. There's a message beyond that. We should always also see that. This film is set three youths who stay in a mansion and the way they fight to reach their goals. I'M making this film with a view to suit the entire members of the Tamil families.

There is a lip to lip kissing sequence within the Hindi version. How did you convince Hansika in doing this?

I felt that Hansika can be suitable for her role. So I went to relate the tale to her. After I told her it's Delhi Belly story, she really got startled. Then I convinced her and told that Arya was the hero of this film. She agreed once I told her that this film can be an excellent hit.

It is known that Anjali may be rocking with Hansika on this film?

Yeah. If Hansika is Ooty plum, Anjali is an area tomato. Anjali desired to reduce her weight. I told her not reduce the load I asked her to be fluffy but she was Upset. Anjali took quite a lot of efforts and reduced her weight. Now she has the appearance of a fresh sun flower.

Santhanam should have kept some nicknames for these girls?

Wherever Santhanam is there, there'll be noise. The roommates within the mansion are Arya, Premgi and Santhanam. Arya is a reporter whereas Premgi is a cartoonist. Santhanam writes rumours. He writes rumours about actresses within the centre page of a magazine and due to this he has a large number of fan followers. Santhanam’s name is Nadupakka Nakki this means that licker of centre page. For fun sake, Anjali interviews Santhanam on the shooting spot. She asked him," Why is you name Nakki (Licker)? Santhanam immediately joked, "People call Vikram as Vicky, Venkatesan as Venky. Similarly I shortened my name Nagaraj as Nakki." We kept this scene within the film. Anjali couldn't control her laughter.
