Many films are to be released throughout the month of December. At this juncture it's been decided to release Rajni starrer Shivaji in the course of the month of December.

It was decided to release this film in 3D format on 12-12-12 which happens to be the birthday of Rajnikanth.
Shivaji which had super star Rajnikanth, Shriya and Suman within the cast was produced by AVM.
This film which was directed by Shankar was released within the year 2007. AVM Productions decided to re-release this film in 3D format.
The work connected with this 3D was completed and was presupposed to be released on Deepavali day. Afterward this was postponed and was decided to release this film on Rajnikanth’s birthday (12-12-12).
