The young actor is now busy shooting for his bilingual film that may be directed by Telugu director Sreedhar. The film is titled as Backbench student in Telugu and the Tamil version is yet to have its title. Pia Bajpayee and Archana Kavi of Aravaan fame star opposite Mahat in female lead roles.

The shooting is predicted to wrap up by end of December and is scheduled for release on February 14 for the occasion of Valentine Day. Shedding lights at the film, Mahat says that he cannot forget the working experience in Mankatha for Ajith Kumar, Venkat Prabhu and Dayanidhi Azhagiri has been so supportive in helping him gain more proficiency in acting.

Soon after the backbench student, that's a breezy romantic entertainer, the actor will join hands together with his friend producer Dayanidhi Azhagiri for an additional project in an effort to be directed by Adhiroopan, a former associate of Bala and Kathir.
